10 Principles of Simple Living

Grande Cache, Alberta

My parents have these posted in their kitchen. I’ve read them numerous times and think that they are excellent reminders. Since we are currently visiting them, I’m taking this opportunity to record and share the principles.

1. Consume less.
2. Love people, use things. Put people before things.
3. Live lightly on the land and close to the earth.
4. Choose locally whenever possible.
5. Less is usually more.
6. Insist on quality.
7. Live from your vision.
8. Check in with yourself regularly.
9. Simple solutions are usually better than complicated ones.
10. Everything and everyone is connected.
